AUGUSTA (WFXG) – In these days of the pandemic, everyone talks about that coronavirus. But that’s not the only virus to worry about. Hundreds of others can be a danger to your digital world.
“No one is very suspecting of a Word document that comes in their email and yet that is one of the primary vectors for delivery of any virus or malware through a computer or user,” said Nicole Cliff, the cybersecurity program manager for the Cyber Workforce Academy at the Georgia Cyber Center.
As more and more people connect to the Internet, the danger for your computer is rising.
“The virus could do anything from deleting your file to embedding itself in the boot sector, to prevent your computer from turning on,” explained Cliff.
