AUGUSTA (WFXG)–You might remember the SolarWinds Data breach that impacted hundreds of American businesses last year. It was just the latest hack, which national security experts say came from Russia.
That’s why the US is putting major sanctions on Russia for interference with several American projects, including SolarWinds, and in the 2016 and 2020 elections.
“But the biggest part that’s going to affect Russia and their economy is that the US is no longer allowing those debt relationships,” said Zach Hodges, the vice president and COO of Cyber Security Solutions in Augusta. “So, no more lending that debt to the Russian side.”
